We were right on the water today in Kitsilano. The local seagulls found the pavers on the decks were a great spot to drop clams to crack open. Needless to say there were tiny bits of shells in all the knocks and crannies of the gutter system blocking it up in a number of spots. The section of in built gutter in the photos had the small drain plugged up and was overflowing with every downpour. We augured and flushed the downpipe then installed a strainer to prevent gunk from getting down there and backing it up again. We also recommend annual cleanings for most homes or if there are trees close to the home more frequent cleaning may be necessary.
